Mayor Hans-Jörg Henle recently visited the Leutkircher company “BC Drilling tools GmbH” in Wangener Straße. The small company has specialised in the trade and development of drilling tools and sells them worldwide.

Managing director Volker Ulrich informed about the different types and application areas of the products distributed by BC Drilling tools. For example, the tools are used in soil investigations, well drilling and geothermal drilling – down to depths of around 1500 metres.

“I come from a family of well drillers and have always been fascinated by this topic,” says Ulrich. His company’s tools are used all over the world and, depending on the geology, some of them have to be specially manufactured. “We advise our customers which drill bit is best for their project and also accompany projects on site,” Ulrich continues. For example, the company’s drilling tools were used for exploratory drilling at the Gotthard Tunnel or for well projects in Africa.
